This years Earth Hour has a new spin to it. It is being transformed into the world’s first global election between Earth and Global Warming. Turning your lights off between 8:30 – 9:30 PM on March 28th, 2009 is your vote for Earth. Keeping them on is your vote for global warming.
WWF is hoping to get at least 1 billion votes for Earth which will be present to the world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will end up replacing the Kyoto Protocol. This is a chance for people of the world to get their voice heard!
Check out Vote Earth 2009 website here and spread the word to your family, friends, and co-workers to turn off their lights to vote on at 8:30 PM, March 28th!!

Scott and I participated in Earth Hour last year. We turned off all the lights, lit some candles and enjoyed each others company, peered out our window to see who else was participating and then played some chess. We actually really enjoyed ourselves, felt like we were making a difference and even left the lights off longer then an hour.
I’ve read the best way to ensure your vote for Earth is counted is to register with Earth Hour… unsure if that is true or not? But if your interested click below.
