Hui Diedre & Scott. Sounds like you are having a fabulous adventure!! I did write a few weeks after you left but I don't know if you got it or not. Did you?? I don't have your email address and I have not been successful getting from your mom and dad. Please send it.

Your babies are fine. Charlie is the sweetest, most cuddly and nosey of any cat I have had. We love him to bits!! As you said, Carrigan does her own thing and sleeps a lot. She does play each day but she is not very affectionate. I could hold Charlie all day and I don't think he'd leave! He is quite a little escape artist and you have to watch him like a hawk. I put little cat collars with bells on them so I could at least hear where they are. That Charlie sure eats a lot--and than tries to eat Maggies food, shich, I might add, creates a lot of growling, barking and hissing!!!

Have a wonderful time. And, please send us your email address.

Love and meows, Carol, Charlie & Carrigan

Wow that's a great story, it's ironix that such a great ship should fail so badly, so quickly. I have never been to Stockholm but if I ever do this will be one stop I will make.

Cheers Conor

Welcome to our corner of the intraweb Mark! We didn't have time to go to the Skansen museum, we spent too much time catching up with an old friend and his new kids (which is mighty fine with us!)

I agree that it is an excellent museum and a great story of its preservation. I hope you had a chance to visit nearby Skansen - the best openair museum I think I've seen. I wrote a bit about the Vasa at my blog (check out http://www.travel-wonders.com/2009/03/seventeenth-century-titanic-stockholm.html

The dutch were world renowned for their shipbuilding qualities during this time so I dont think it was poor workmanship. Perhaps it was either taking all the money that the king was paying them or their own way to subvert the war machine of Sweden. Maybe a little of both.

Either way a long tribunal was held and nobody was found guilty and those dutch shipbuilders built more ships for the king.
