Friends and buckets at Thailand’s famous Full Moon Party!

If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t heard about the Thailand full moon parties, here’s the deal. Each month on the full moon there’s a huge party that happens on Koh Phangan. What started out apparently as a birthday party has grown to be a massive party each month with spin offs at full moon, new moon and any other thing the Thai’s can think of.

Our arts & crafts day in Bangkok – Loy Krathong Festival

IMG_5209.jpg

Many Thai’s will make and release a krathong into the river as a symbolic nature to letting go of all grudges, anger, and negative thoughts so they can start their life fresh on a better foot.

…We soon came to the massive bottle neck of a line to get to the floating river barrage, filled with all walks of life and all of them pushing to get ahead in the line. … All that hard mental work to make Scott’s glorious krathong to float was pretty much a waste as the waves chopped over all the krathongs and no one mentioned the millions of large fish that come right away to eat the krathongs!

Our Dream Oktoberfest Experience

ny beer drinker out there has heard the legend of beer Shambhala – a place that only comes out once the days get a bit cooler and the yeast has time to ferment and become the nectar of the gods. Where beer comes in 1 liter mugs carried by a buxom blonde with 6 in each hand. A place that has all the beer friendly food you ever need, Weisswurst (White sausage), pretzels and pulled wild boar sandwiches are just a small sampling.

Enjoying the Sun & Bass in Italy

None the less, our week there was off the charts. We rented ourselves a great little condo to share, drank way too much cheap wine, made some great meals, sunbathed on the beach, laughed our asses off, and danced to some great music in the most classy venues we think any junglist will ever see.

Getting Loaded in the Park

One thing about the festival I didn’t like though was the trashiness of the English people. There’s only one type of animal I know that lives in it’s own filth, wallowing and scrounging through the trash for food. We saw people sitting at the food fair and just throwing their unwanted food on the ground; eating in-between trash and leaving whole chicken cadavers while throwing bottles on the ground.

The French Know How To Party: Couvre Feu 2009

The term professional partier comes up lots in our dialect. Amongst our group of friends we all love a party and believe we are quite good at it too! We’ve attended many club nights, special events, raves, house parties, concerts and multi day festivals. We have also thrown a good amount of parties ourselves: House parties, huge New Years Bashers, Houseboat Stags, Special Events, club nights, illegal underground raves, and we even had one heck of a wedding that ended with table dancing!

Random Nights with Friends Can Lead to Many Things

Before we knew it we where actually setting dreams into plans. Picking tentative dates, places to go, things we must do, researching events to attend, and then choosing the location to start it all… and of course of all the places in Europe to choose from. We choose Amsterdam to set us off on the right foot.
Finally on a warm summer day in August of 2009 we got off a train in Amsterdam and like it was out of some teenage summer movie we saw our friends down at the end of the walkway with the same travel tired weary smiles as us.
