It’s about a 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai who is only one question away from winning India’s version of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” He is then arrested for the suspicion of cheating. To prove his innocence he shares his life story that has lead up to this point. His story is a heart-touching love story and is also very eye-opening at the same time.
I’ve recently become more interested in India then I have before. With our original plans that got thrown out the window a long time ago we might not of ever gone. But now with us setting new plans the possibility of traveling to that country is getting higher.
I’ve also been reading a few blogs here and there from friends and strangers that are currently in India and their stories have been so intriguing and raising my curiosity. I remember thinking to myself years ago that India was a country I didn’t need to see… but then again I also remember saying years ago I would never drive a standard. Which today, I am driving a standard and love it!
Never say never.
Now, after seeing this movie I’m almost feeling torn again. One side of me wants to go to India for a complete culture shock. Even moreso then what Asia will provide. But on the other side I’m wondering if I could even handle it? I guess that is when that damn cliche of traveling the world comes in play. You really do learn who you are…
Anyways, if you haven’t see Slumdog Millionaire I do recommend it!
