It's the same one, good enough location. It was funny though, because we had originally booked a 4 person dorm room and when we got to the front counter we were told we had been "upgraded". After a 1 night I complained and he showed me and Steve another apartment that looked good but also had a broken bed! Plus we still had the death stairway, which was seriously pitch black.. if we didn't have our flashlights someone would have died. Broken stairs, railings, dripping water, wires hanging everywhere, it was crazy. It's how I imagine the slums on East Hasting look like... actually a google search makes them look safer...

Once we transferred to the dorms it was decent enough, except there was a crew of 4 fixing the buildings air-conditioning outside our window from 0700 on.

Was that Le Village hostel near Sacre Couer? I stayed there when I was in Paris [in a dorm] and really liked it. I just looked up reviews again and everyone that stayed in the apartment said it was horrible. Sorry to hear that you got the bad room.
