Get Loaded in the Park and other London plans

A festival called Get Loaded in the Park is the sole reason we suddenly have confirm some of our Europeans plans. Because really… a festival with a name like that sounds like a party that can’t be missed!

Get Loaded in the Park is a one day outdoor festival in London. Located at Clapham Common park on Sunday August 30, during their bank holiday weekend. It attracts 20,000 people in attendance, has 4 stages with a mix of djs and bands. We know only a small handful of the acts but that is OK as the ones we know are going to be pretty freaking amazing to see. Can we say Roni Size Reprazent LIVE? Ah, I can’t wait!

Since this event falls on a long weekend and is only just 1 of a few massive festivals happening at that time we decided it would be in our best interest to book our hostel and buy our tickets to the event now.

So our plans look like this:

(please note that during August/September we will also be traveling with our friends Karen & Steve)

Aug 27: Arrive by train from wherever and check into our hostel. Depending on the time go check out some sights

Aug 28: Spend a day screaming our lungs on the roller coasters at Thorpe Park. UK’s most thrilling theme park.
Aug 29: Spend the day sight-seeing then attend Renegade Hardware with SPOR at Area Night club.
Aug 31: Check out of hostel and get on a train to make our way to France

Two other things we know we want to do is eat at The Giraffe Resturant and take a photo of the 4 of us at Abby Road.

The hostel we booked is called the Generator. It is located in a great central location of Russel Square. It it’s often voted as one of the top 10 hostels of the world and is also London’s largest, funkiest and liveliest, hostel with over 800 beds! It has a bar with the cheapest drinks in London (or so the they claim) and the videos make it look like a great party spot to get rowdy.

With our friends we are sharing a private room with 4 beds. The price per person is $44 CDN a night.

Included in that price is the following:

FREE all you can eat continental breakfast
FREE bed linen
FREE drink at arrival
FREE luggage storage
FREE lockers (bring your own lock)
FREE walking tour at 10:15 daily
