Chiang Mai’s Sunday Night Market is packed full of great buys! No where did we spot a single knock off watch, stiletto blade, or a fake mont bloc pen. Instead, many of the vendors are artists selling their own personal hand made wares.

I thought our cat Charlie was the only cat that sat around looking silly with his tongue sticking out until the day we met this little guy on the island of Koh Tao.
I’ve seen pictures of Angkor Wat and couldn’t help to think this was like a mini appetizer for what we will see there. It really made me eager to get our asses to Cambodia. But in the meantime it was great to appreciate what is left of this old city.
Soon, our number was called and we got up with smiles and handed over our numbered coloured card to the desk. They fingered some papers and then ushered us off to another section while giving us a new coloured numbered card and told us to sit down and wait again.
Mixed up amongst all the beauty of the Grand Palace is a large amount of ugly in disguise. Friendly, well spoken Thai’s, dressed in “uniforms” with maps in their hands. They stand outside of all the entrances of any the Wats in the Grand Palace area with big smiles and approach you as a friend asking if you need help.
Be smart like us and pay the slight bit extra to get a long tail boat and driver to yourself. For slightly more than what a couple would pay to be with 20 other people, we got a private island tour for only 1200 baht. He will take you to the sights you want to go to and you can stay for as long as you like at each site.
Ever have one of those days? Those days that everything seems to go wrong? Monday, April 26th 2010 was one of those days. Today reminded me of a scene in the movie Benjamin Button. That if just one damn thing went right it would have changed the entire outcome. But instead, it turned into the worse day of travel in 300 days around the world.
There is nothing better in this world than having your kitty come brighten your day when your feeling under the weather.
Even if Leonardo Dicapro never stepped foot here, the massive beauty alone of these sister islands have and still attract many people to come see the area for themselves.
You ever get really excited for something? Vision it, think about it lots and wait in anticipation? And when you get there, it just doesn’t live up to the hype. Unfortunately this happened to Scott and I during our time on the island of Koh Lanta. We had read many blogs all stating how great Koh Lanta is and how its one of their favourite islands. But for some strange reason the island just didn’t click for us.
