I thought our cat Charlie was the only cat that sat around looking silly with his tongue sticking out until the day we met this little guy on the island of Koh Tao.
I’ve seen pictures of Angkor Wat and couldn’t help to think this was like a mini appetizer for what we will see there. It really made me eager to get our asses to Cambodia. But in the meantime it was great to appreciate what is left of this old city.
Mixed up amongst all the beauty of the Grand Palace is a large amount of ugly in disguise. Friendly, well spoken Thai’s, dressed in “uniforms” with maps in their hands. They stand outside of all the entrances of any the Wats in the Grand Palace area with big smiles and approach you as a friend asking if you need help.
Be smart like us and pay the slight bit extra to get a long tail boat and driver to yourself. For slightly more than what a couple would pay to be with 20 other people, we got a private island tour for only 1200 baht. He will take you to the sights you want to go to and you can stay for as long as you like at each site.
Our travel back home involves a total of 17 hours in the air. With 4 connections that means a grand total of a 21 hour travel day! Yikes! To think we used to moan at 9 hour days… Luckily we have our upcoming adventures to look forward to plus more!
There is nothing better in this world than having your kitty come brighten your day when your feeling under the weather.
You ever get really excited for something? Vision it, think about it lots and wait in anticipation? And when you get there, it just doesn’t live up to the hype. Unfortunately this happened to Scott and I during our time on the island of Koh Lanta. We had read many blogs all stating how great Koh Lanta is and how its one of their favourite islands. But for some strange reason the island just didn’t click for us.
As we continued to walk more and watched the ground you could see the spiders crawling around and stopping like a deer caught in head lights when they would come into full on view of my headlamp. Their glowing, beady eyes which were the size of a nail head stared right back at you.
The pictures say enough. Happy Furry Friday Everyone!
