We went to Liverpool to checkout more about the Beatles, and there is a great museum right on the docks called “The Beatles Story”. It’s the only all-Beatles museum in the world and seems like the right place to have it, where they grew up.
It talks about how the group of unlikely friends were drawn together with their love of music and ability to make sound. Lennon and McCarthy starting out as The Quarrymen and then when they went Hamburg – The Beatles.
The rest they say is history. Their sound was innovative and their artistic passion shined through all of their work. They were un-inhibited and broke through all the boundries including their famous Magical Mystery Tour Bus film where they had no script – what they dreamt the night before they filmed the next day.
It’s really amazing how four people can go out and touch peoples lives and truly make a difference. From their initial rock sound to more of an abstract and on to anti-war sentiments, these people changed the world. And nobody took the mantle on more than John Lennon with his 2 week bed-in as a protest to the Vietnam war.
The Beatles Story is a do-not-miss attraction if your in Liverpool, 5 stars.
